Living Your Life On Purpose

We all seek a life that is rewarding and meaningful, providing us with a sense of accomplishment and success. The intention of this program is to assist participants in uncovering personal values, what would bring more fulfillment, and gather a deeper understanding of how to shape that experience and work within environments that seem to hinder it.
If you find yourself wondering ‘what’s next for me,’ or questioning why there isn’t a sense of reward from your work, this could be just the place to explore how you could make some changes in your perspective about yourself and your potential. During this workshop Heather will challenge you to take a deeper look at your values, your desires and to commit to some real changes that will improve your productivity and habits.
This workshop is delivered in four segments. During each of the segments, you will be asked to do some breathing exercises or guided relaxation and visualization, with the goal of getting out of our thinking brain and into a deeper sense of intuition or gut knowing. Further, you will be asked to journal, so please come prepared with writing materials.
- The first segment will lay a foundation of how we tap into our potential and have you explore your uniqueness. The unique expression of you that can be brought to various areas of your life.
- The second section focuses on how we get in our own way. This may be the result of ideas that we hold onto, or habits that we cannot seem to shale. Between the second and third sessions, Heather will be available for you to discuss your current writing and assist you personally in designing your personal mission statement.
- The third session reviews how we can bring attention to the area of your life that need the most attention in the next 12 months. You will establish a goal that you wish to achieve and a method for tackling the main habit you wish to change.
- Finally, we will tie this information together within the larger context of your life, and similar concepts of mindset, grit and resiliency.
Your Facilitator: Heather Reynolds has been employed with Dalhousie University since 2002 when she proposed, developed and designed the climbing facilities in Dalplex. As the Coordinator of Student Recreation, Heather’s career has been built on a foundation of blending physical awareness with self awareness and well-being. Heather complements this approach as a 500-hour certified Yoga and meditation teacher, a Level 1 certified ParaYoga teacher, an Ayurvedic Yoga Specialist and 20+ years of experience as a personal trainer and coach. Heather combines her many years of experience as a teacher, a coach and leader to guide others through a process of personal development and realization of their unique potential. Heather has authored several articles and a book on self-development and realizing one’s potential.
